Hrithik Roshan, New gay icon

The debate has been raging on for quite some time ever since actor Hrithik Roshan was voted as a gay sex symbol this year by a website. Though Hrithik seems quite okay with the title of being a gay symbol – prominent members of the community seem divided in their opinion.

While some say they wouldn’t fantasise about him because he is too brawny, others say that they would definitely work for them because he has the body of a Greek God. Though Hrithik has, till date, kept quiet about suddenly being in a domain that was previously reserved for actors Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, he seems nonchalant being a gay sex symbol. But the gay community in Mumbai doesn’t seem so…

“I like brawny men. I like men with a rough body which exudes a certain casual sexuality in him. Hrithik Roshan fits into that mould perfectly. He seems rough and yet he seems gentle. I would of course fantasise about him. But I must rush to add here that I liked the earlier Hrithik, 10 years back, when he was younger,” says Ram, who’s a prominent member of the community.

For Harish Iyyer, whose life story has been made into a film, Hrithik Roshan will lag behind Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. “He appeals to a certain kind of men but I would say that Imran would appeal to most gays with Ranbir being a close second. Hrithik would appeal to people who want their partner to be beyond the classic meterosexual man who would show a lot of brawn, strength and passion rather than visual appeal in terms of sexuality,” says Harish.

Activist, Upkar Singh is not too sure. “The way he conducts himself, he is bound to make everybody feel special whether it is a man or a woman. In a relationship, how you conduct yourself is more important than how you look. I guess he scores in that department,” says Singh.

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Tribute To Guru Dutt

Sunil Bohra, co-producer of the upcoming Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, is planning a sneak preview of the film the family late filmmaker Guru Dutt, including his sister Lalita Lajmi, its director-daughter Kalpana Lajmi, his cousin, Shyam Benegal and son Arun Dutt. This film is a tribute to Guru Dutt and the entire cast and crew of the film 1962.

“I spoke to Shyam Babu, who is in Delhi, and promised to be there. It is a film that was taken as a must-see, even before the invitation,” says Bohra.

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster is based on the principle Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam characters and is a contemporary version of how the characters behave this time. Dhuli Tigmanshu said: “My film is not a remake or an adaptation of Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam. I just had the three main characters in this film and not our own version. The similarity is limited to these three characters. After a completely new film. ”

Sultry model-turned-actress Lisa Haydon is oh-so-blase about shedding her inhibitions on the big screen.

In her second outing as an actress in Rascals, she has done her first item number, Shake It Saiiyan, and it promises to be every bit as sexy and sensuous as her swimsuit calendar shoots.

The part Tamilian-part Australian model, who was first seen in Aisha, says she had no qualms going bare-backed in one part of the item number in front of so many people on the set. She explains, “Coming from a modelling background, I have grown comfortable with my body. And now, as an actor, I am here to fulfill the director’s creative vision.”
A dance enthusiast, learning the steps from choreographers Bosco-Caesar was fairly easy. Loving the energy of the song, Lisa says, “Shake It Saiiyan has a fantastic beat and the overall feel is a blend of various styles like hip-hop and jazz with a lot of glamour! All of this gives the song a whole new look and feel.”

In the same vein she adds, “Working on Rascals was so much fun! Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn are total rockstars. My director David Dhawan too made me feel very comfortable on the sets.”
